Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 6, 2026
React Camera("the app", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app does and does not collect, and how it is used.
1. Your Photos & Videos Stay on Your Device
React Camera processes your photos and videos entirely on your device. The cutout, compositing, captions, and stickers all happen locally. Your photos and videos are never uploaded to our servers and never leave your device. See section 2 for how face data is handled during the cutout.
2. Face Data
To create the cutout effect, the app uses Apple's on-device Vision framework (person segmentation) to distinguish the person in the camera frame from the background. This processing may involve detecting the presence and outline of a person, including their face, in each camera frame.
Collection: We do not collect any face data. All face and person detection happens exclusively on your device using Apple's built-in, on-device frameworks. No face data, facial geometry, faceprints, or biometric identifiers are ever created for identification purposes, collected by us, or transmitted off your device.
Use: The camera frames are used for one purpose only: to separate the person from the background in real time so the app can composite you over your chosen photo or video. The app does not perform face recognition, does not identify individuals, and does not derive any biometric or demographic information from faces.
Storage & retention: Face data is not retained. Each camera frame is processed in your device's memory and is immediately discarded after the composited frame is rendered — face data exists only for the fraction of a second required to render that frame and is never written to disk, stored, or retained by us in any form or for any length of time. The only thing that persists is the final photo or video that you explicitly choose to save, and that is saved only to your own device's photo library, under your control.
Sharing with third parties: We do not share face data with any third parties, because no face data ever leaves your device or reaches us in the first place. There are no third parties involved in the processing of your camera frames; the segmentation is performed entirely by the operating system's on-device frameworks provided by Apple, with no network access.
Where it is stored: Nowhere. Since face data is never collected, transmitted, or retained, there is no server, database, or storage location — ours or a third party's — that holds any face data.
3. No Account, No Login
The app does not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not require your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier in order to use the app. Providing an email (see section 5) is entirely optional.
4. Anonymous Onboarding Analytics
The only data we collect is a small amount of anonymous analytics during onboarding, used to understand where our users come from and which devices to support. Specifically, we may record:
- The option you select for "how did you hear about us"
- Your app version and build number
- Your platform (e.g., iOS)
- Your device locale (e.g., en, ja)
- Your approximate country, derived from your IP address at the time of the request
This information is anonymous. Aside from an optional email you may choose to provide (see section 5), we do not collect your name or other personal identifiers, and we never collect or transmit the content of your photos or videos.
5. Optional Email for Updates
During onboarding you may optionally enter an email address if you'd like to hear about updates to React Camera. This is completely voluntary — the app works fully without it. If you provide an email, we store it solely to send occasional product updates, and you can ask us to remove it at any time via the support contact below. We do not sell your email or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
6. Purchases
The app may offer optional in-app purchases (for example, removing the watermark or unlocking customization). These purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details.
7. Children's Privacy
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. We do not require any personal identifiers to use the app, the optional email is voluntary, and media is processed only on-device, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
8. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you may contact us at the support email listed on the App Store listing.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make any updates to this policy, we will post the revised version here with a new effective date. Your continued use of the app after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
